I was unsure about doing an underground fence because I wasn’t sure if it would work for my dogs. But it does work wonders! My dogs don’t even really need the collars on anymore. They just stay in the boundaries because they have now learned not to go across a certain point. I’m really happy we did this instead of spending all money on a regular fence!Posted on Google![]()

This is a fantastic company! The electric fencing has done wonders for the dogs! It’s like an invisible force field. I tested the “shock” on myself and found that it was just enough to get attention. That made me feel safe about using it on the dogs. A funny story is that I spray painted on the driveway “Dogs cannot cross” so the delivery guys wouldn’t be worried. One day an Amazon driver asked me how I taught my dogs to read. (Clearly not understanding that there must be an invisible fence.) I gave him a long look and decided to play along. I told him I was a Cherokee Indian and I couldn’t just share native secrets. He told me that he had seen many smoke clouds around (we’re in the country and it was lead burning season.) He asked if that was how I contacted my chief. I decided to play along and agreed. I told him I’d have to contact my “chief” and he’d have to get back to me. I thought it was all in good fun. Two weeks later, he came back without a package. He told me he’d noticed different colored smoke clouds around lately and wondered if we’d gotten in touch. I asked him if he was kidding. He said he was serious as cancer, wasn’t I? I had to break it to the genius that there was no Cherokee nation near me, I was, indeed, not Native American and if I needed to contact my “chief” I would have used a phone. The fence was so good that it convinced a total dolt that my dogs could read.Posted on Google![]()

I have had my Dog Watch fencing system for over 8 years now, I have been very happy with the program. I have had times where a wire was hit by landscaping crews and they would come out to fix it within 24 hours. Recently, I ran into an issue where my dog's receiver had been damaged at a boarding facility. Crystal at Dog Watch helped me replace the receiver and then when I had an issue changing the battery in the receiver they immediately swooped into action to get the receiver fixed and taken care of. I have had friends try other systems and their dogs continue to break the fence and run away. I have never had this problem with Dog Watch, the system is really good and allows you to set it properly to keep your dogs in your yard with the variable settings for the level of correction, the areas of where and how you can pre correct before they even try to get out of the yard. It's a great, reliable system that with two hunting dogs, we have never had a problem. We do have to make sure our batteries are always good in the receivers - I recommend using their Dog Watch battery that will stay good for at least a year. The others you can buy on Amazon are unreliable and will expire in a few months. I rest easy knowing my dogs will stay in my yard and if I have a problem, they will be here to fix it for me quickly and efficiently. Could not recommend them more!!!Posted on Google![]()

We needed something to keep our cat in the yard and the electric fence is perfect for this. Easy install and very professional.

"We are very happy with our fence system. Our dogs learned the boundaries very quickly, and we have peace of mind that they won't run off chasing deer or other critters. I am a veterinarian, and I recommend this fence system to my clients. The price, installation, and training were all reasons I chose this brand."

What is a Hidden Dog Fence?
A hidden fence is an underground dog fence system that uses an electronic signal to keep your dog within a designated area and away from potential dangers. An underground wire transmits a radio signal to your pet's receiver collar. Watch the video to see how it works!
DogWatch has been making hidden dog fence systems since 1990. Our fences are sold and installed by our network of over 200 independent DogWatch Dealers worldwide.

Hidden fences are created by burying a ‘boundary wire’ a few inches underground around your property. The buried wire carries a harmless, low level radio signal from a transmitter installed in your house or garage. Your pet wears a lightweight, waterproof receiver collar that recognizes the radio signal. As your pet approaches the buried wire, the receiver collar emits a warning signal (audible or vibration). If your pet travels further, he will receive a mild electrical stimulation (also called a “correction”) from the receiver collar. Through a training program, your pet learns to recognize his fence boundaries and learns to stop at the warning signal. Although there are differences in some of the product features, this is how all hidden fences work (DogWatch, Invisible Fence® and other radio fence brands.)
With an indoor system, the hidden wire runs around your couch, under the lip of the counter, around the trash or across a doorway or wherever you need to create either a containment area or an “off-limits” area. We also have “wireless” indoor units that do not require placement of a boundary wire. Give us a call to discuss your options.
Training is an important part of the process. After we install the hidden fence, we work with you to train your pet. The training includes teaching your pet to recognize the containment area boundaries through a combination of voice commands, audible warning signals from the receiver collar and visual flags that are set in the yard where the pet hears the warning alert. With training, the dog remembers the placement of the flags and associates the flags with the warning signal. As your pet learns, the flags are slowly taken away. Your pet also learns that if he continues beyond the flags and warning alert, he will receive a correction (a mild electrical stimulation from the collar). After training, most dogs do not cross the hidden boundary; they usually stop before the warning signal to avoid the correction.
We will initiate the training and provide instructions and support so you can complete and reinforce the training. After the initial training, your dog goes through a training session with you for a few minutes each day for about two weeks. We will develop a plan to meet the specific training needs of your pet(s).
The “stimulation” from the collar is a sensation similar to the static shock you receive after walking across a carpet in your socks. It is a brief, unpleasant sensation designed to deter a pet from leaving the boundary. After training, most dogs do not cross the hidden boundary and thus do not receive a correction.
The electronic stimulation will not “burn” your pet. In rare instances, prolonged or improper use of an electronic collar has resulted in a pet developing pressure sores on their necks. This situation is easily avoided by ensuring that the collar is fit properly and removed regularly. DogWatch strongly recommends removing your dog’s receiver collar daily when not in use.
The cost for a DogWatch Hidden Fence is almost always much less than traditional fencing. The cost varies based on which system is right for you, the number of pets, the size of the property, how many sidewalk and driveway cuts, if you want internal “garden loops”, etc. Contact us for a free consultation and an estimate for your property.
In addition to costing less than traditional fences, hidden fences provide more flexibility and more secure containment than traditional fences. For example, you can contain your dog in your yard, but keep him out of a pool area, garden or driveway gate. Plus, your dog cannot jump over, chew through or dig under a hidden fence. And hidden fences don’t need to be painted and don’t deteriorate like traditional fences.
There usually isn’t much difference in the cost of a DogWatch fence and other Dealer-installed brands (such as Invisible Fence®.) Retail brands may seem to cost less than the Dealer-installed brands, but they do not include installation (which can be challenging), training (which is very important), ongoing support or a good warranty program. Also, Dealer-installed products tend to be better quality than retail brands.
We offer a Lifetime Limited Warranty on our outdoor systems professionally installed by DogWatch of Greater Kansas City. There is also a limited 30-day money-back guarantee if you are not satisfied with the system.
